Katie Bonilla, LMSW
About
My name is Katie Bonilla and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New York State, providing individual therapy in English and Spanish. I tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Client-Centered Therapy. Creating a safe and comfortable space for my clients is my priority. I want them to feel heard and empowered in our sessions, knowing that I am there to support them and be in their corner.
I have experience working with diverse populations, including adults, older adults, immigrants, survivors of abuse, and military veterans. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD. My goal when working with my clients is to help them get to the root cause of their problems, develop coping skills, learn and grow, and become a better version of themselves.
I became a therapist because I believe in the power of human resilience and the importance of feeling truly seen and understood. I aim to create a nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their emotions, gaining insight, and building meaningful change.
I earned my Master's in Social Work from Touro University and am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
