About

I am Diana Kanhoye, a Licensed Master’s of Social Work (LMSW) in New York state. As a compassionate and empathetic therapist, my approach is centered on fostering a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment where clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

My therapeutic style is eclectic, incorporating various evidence-based modalities tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. I strive to create a personalized plan that addresses the complex interplay of cognitive, emotional, and relational factors influencing the client's life. I have extensive experience working with individuals and families utilizing various methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength-Based approaches, and Solution-Focused therapy. I am also a spiritually-informed therapist and can help clients explore their spiritual beliefs, values and experiences.

I am passionate about working with young to middle aged adults experiencing anxiety, depression, boundary setting difficulties, microaggressions in the workplace, behavioral issues, perinatal mental health, and family trauma. I also have experience working with caregivers, the LGBTQ+ population as well as first and second-generation individuals experiencing intergenerational-trauma.

I believe in forming strong, working relationships with clients. My approach emphasizes active listening, empathy, and a focus on the client's narrative, to uncover patterns and challenges that may be hindering their well-being. This engagement process helps clients develop a sense of ownership and agency, allowing them to explore their experiences with curiosity and receptivity.

I aim to help individuals gain insights to facilitate growth and self-awareness through a cognitive behavioral lens. My focus has always been on empowering my clients, helping them to challenge their thoughts and recognize their inherent strengths in a non-judgmental and culturally-competent manner.

I graduated from Fordham University with my Master’s of Social Work.
