Rivkah Adison, LMFT

About

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-LP in New York State. I have experience working with couples and individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, domestic violence, substance use and supporting those affected by loved ones with substance abuse.

Furthermore, I have a passion for working with couples where I work on creating a deeper connection and greater understanding of their relationship. Using Gottman principles and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), I work with the couple to unravel the lingering resentments that have been weighing the couple down and build a more resilient partnership. Together, we work on fostering an environment where communication flourishes, so that you have increased trust with your partner.

My goal in therapy is to create an environment where both inner and relational awareness can develop and flourish. Additionally, I believe a strong therapeutic connection is a must. I strive to build connection, trust, and rapport with each client so that I can best tailor my treatment approach to the individual, their therapeutic needs, and their goals.

Honesty in the therapeutic relationship is also extremely important to me. I will always provide you with a safe, nonjudgmental and compassionate space in the hopes of supporting and nurturing a trusting therapeutic relationship.

I graduated with a Master of Science in Counseling and a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University.
